A guided tour to discover the origins of San Galgano Abbey. The church is dedicated to Galgano Guidotti, an ambitious medieval knight converted to Christianity. Even in our days the majestic ruins testify the vast dimensions of the building and the large following that the cult of Galgano obtained soon after his death.
Our itinerary continues towards Montesiepi, where we will be able to admire the frescoes by Ambrogio Lorenzetti and the famous Sword in the Stone, stucked in the stone by the Galgano at the moment of his conversion. The place, even after centuries, still manteins all its mystic atmosphere, in an interweaving between history and myth that starts from the hills of Siena to then reach the legend of King Arthur.
